Háttér Society, founded in 1995, is the largest and oldest currently operating lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) organization in Hungary. Háttér Society’s aim is to draw the attention of professional and political public opinion, as well as the attention of wider society to the problems of LGBTQI people; the operation of services to assist them; getting to know the social situation and needs of LGBTQI people; mainstreaming these concerns in public services; protecting the rights of LGBTQI people and combating discrimination against them; increasing their well-being and health-consciousness; supporting LGBTQI-communities to organize themselves, preserve and promote their culture.
Founded in 2004, Bilitis is the oldest LGBTI organization in Bulgaria. Bilitis began its activity as a self-support group of lesbians and bisexual women and gradually has included trans and intersex people in its leadership. Their approach takes into account the interconnectedness between gender, race, class, sexual orientation, gender expression, ethnicity, religion, disability, and other factors, which shape the social status of the individual. Today, Bilitis is a champion for mobilizing the LGBTI people in Bulgaria and an advocate for LGBTI rights.
GLAS Foundation (Gays and Lesbians Accepted in Society) is a non-governmental organization, which was founded in 2014. GLAS strives to bring forth a positive change to the lives of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Bulgaria, guaranteeing them full equality and protection from all forms of discrimination. The organization’s goal is the complete inclusion of LGBT people in all aspects of life and society. The main focus is on working with parents of LGBT people, creating an integrated work environment and campaigning against homophobic hate crimes, as well as promoting tolerance.
Founded in 1997, Lambda Warszawa is the oldest LGBT organization in Poland. The Association helps people who have experienced discrimination or violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, and LGBT people who are otherwise in a crisis or in a difficult life situation. Annually, they provide over 1,400 hours of free psychological consultations for LGBT people. Lambda also offers support groups and therapeutic groups as well as development workshops.

The National Institute of Public Health - National Institute of Hygiene (NIPH-NIH) is the main governmental public health research institute and the reference centre for the national network of sanitary epidemiological service. It cooperates with public health centres at provincial level and other medical research institutes and institutions in Poland and abroad. Established in 1918, NIPH-NIH is the oldest public health institution in Poland, and carries out scientific and training activities, as well as practical interventions in several domains of public health.
The Rights, equality and Citizenship program of the European Union provides a funding of 249,878 EUR for the project.
